On Wednesday, we had our 36 week appointment! I’ve progressed a little bit from last week and went from nothin’ (no dilation, cervix very high) to… no dilation, but 50% effaced. I’m not too surprised because I’ve felt pretty good. Besides the overall discomfort and random Braxton Hicks, I’m in much better shape than I was with my other two at this point.
When I was 36 weeks with Drake, I was already 2cm, 80% effaced. With Ford, I was right around the same. I know that many women can stay the same for weeks on end, but I progress and labor very quickly once things start to happen – so I’m just patiently waiting for the Braxton Hicks to pick up, and for me to walk into an appointment and have my doctor tell us to head to L&D because it’s time! That’s what happened at my 38 week appointment with Ford. I went in and was 4 cm, 80% effaced – it was baby time. That’d be super convenient if this guy decided to do the same. 😉

How Far Along: 36 weeks, 2 days
Size of Baby: A watermelon
Maternity Clothes: Same Same
Movement: Moving & grooving throughout the day
Sleep: Not the best. I’m either sleeping really well or up for hours at a time for no reason.
Cravings: Watermelon, smoothies, Chick-Fil-A cookies
Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks every now and then. Lots of soreness in my upper back throughout the day and lower back pain in the evenings.
To Do List: All the big stuff. We need to bring up all of our newborn stuff from the basement and put the third carseat in our car – we didn’t get to it last weekend. I also need to pack our bags. We need to deep clean our house, order a few more necessities (breastmilk storage bags & Diaper Genie refills), and put together Big Brother gifts for the baby to give to Drake & Ford when they come to meet him. LOL at our preparation this time around.
Best Moment(s) of the Week: Between two sick toddlers & rain all week (causing all of us to go stir crazy), my favorite “moment” was the most recent episode of Game of Thrones. SO GOOD!
I’ve also loved having my in-laws come over on Wednesdays so Nate and I can go to my appointments together. They’ve been coming over in the early afternoon the past 2 weeks so I have time to run around and get stuff done. This Wednesday was dedicated to Mother’s Day gifts and prepping for Drake’s Birthday Celebration at school. He won’t be 3 until May 22, but they celebrated today.

He was so excited to pass out treats to his friends. We let him choose the cookies he wanted, and cars & trucks won over Toy Story. We ordered these personalized cookies from a local cookie decorator – so cute. We also had to add in sunglasses and cars… some of his favorites.

Looking Forward to: Meeting our little guy. We’re getting so close! We’re also planning to go to Touch-A-Truck this weekend. We’re in desperate need of spending time outdoors.
P.S. I wrote my next post, What I’m Packing in My Hospital Bag, and now I just need to actually pack. 😛 My goal is to get that up this weekend!
