Over the weekend we finished the entryway refresh that we’ve been working on for the last month or so. I’m definitely not the type of person to buy everything for one space in a short amount of time and then say, “Alright great, it’s done!”
I stare at it. Rearrange it. Return it. Paint it… change it at least five times before it’s the way I want it. I very much have the mindset that if you’re not in love with it, it’s not worth keeping. I’ve learned that the hard way many, many times – everytime I think something will grow on me, it doesn’t. Then it’s too late to return it and I’m stuck with something that’s just okay. Waste of money!
With this room refresh, I knew I wanted to do something that was inviting, functional, and simple. I also wanted to be picky about the staple pieces I chose because those are generally more expensive… which means I won’t be changing them anytime soon. I was inspired by Gypsy Tan’s simple, eclectic entryway. I loved the way her mirror & bench looked… so I bought the same ones. 🙂
Next, I added elements that would make the space feel warm: a lamp and a plant. Maybe it’s just me, but when I add those two things to any room I swear it automatically has better energy. I then found a throw pillow I loved at World Market and based the rug & other pieces off of that. Below are the links to shop the look.
